Many small porcelain factories in the past had very little records or no record at all or records had been damaged, lost, or disposed of over time. We tend to remember a few factories but many factories came and went out of business within a few years leaving behind very little information about the factories but their products remain to this day. The Gabor Porcelain Company is one of these factories. Porcelain production had always been privately funded in the early years so factories would come and go depending on managed, amount of funds a person had, and/or financial backing. Some of the smaller short-lived porcelain factories help to pioneering the porcelain industry. This deep-dish saucer with no matching cup has a stamped rose pattern on the front over the glazed finish and a smooth gold rim with the gold being under the gaze finish. The hallmark is poorly stamped making it difficult to read it looks like a floral oval design with ‘Gabor Fine Bone China” inside the floral design. There may be another word or two on the floral design on the bottom of the design but I cannot make out what it is. This is a rare find indeed. This product is in pristine condition, with no cracks, chips, scratches, or modifications. It appears to have never been used or has been lightly used. Perfect for collectors or those seeking a like-new item.
