The Shrimpton Couture Archives
- The twin of the dress in an ivory walked the runway for the Pre-fall 2013 Chanel show
- Under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld
- The show was held in Edinburgh Scotland and had a distinctive reference to the kilt which you see clearly on the bodice detailing on the bodice
- Lace straps curve over each shoulder and run around the top edge of the bodice
- The top of the dress has closed pleats that open at the waist and give the skirt the volume and movement that you see
- On one side of the bust there are little attached buckles with pearl encrusted rectangles
- The entire hem is edged in another wide panel of the same lace used for the shoulders
- Where the silk falls under the buckles on the bodice the skirt is open and wraps over itself so when you move or sit a certain way you get a flash of leg. It is exceptional.
- Unlined and closes with a combination of the buckles at the front and hidden set snaps inside along the waist
- Tagged a Chanel 42
- I see a couple of the little faux pearls missing on two of the buckles. It otherwise appears to have been worn very little if at all. Excellent condition.
